AdvaSurf® is a patented process to generate tailored surface properties integrated into the substrate material. For example, metal-based ceramics integrated into the surface of metal alloys with tailorable corrosion and wear properties. The process is adaptable to several surface and substrate materials.


A ceramic/metal hybrid material. The ceramic surface of titanium nitride provides titanium details with a 10-fold increase in surface hardness, excellent wear-endurance, extremely low friction and exceptional corrosion resistance. 
NewSoTech have license rights to TiSurf® technology from SentinaBay AB (NST owns about 20% of SentinaBay AB ). 


The two most useful properties are corrosion resistance and the highest strength-to-density ratio of any metallic element. Used in strong and lightweight applications for aerospace, military, industrial process, automotive, agri-food, medical prostheses and implants, sporting goods, and other applications.

Ceramic materials

Defined as any inorganic crystalline material compound of a metal and a non-metal, ceramics tend to be strong, stiff, brittle, chemically inert, and non-conductors of heat and electricity, but their properties vary widely.


High speed steel and stainless steel

High speed steels gain their properties from either or both tungsten and/or molybdenum. The main use is in various cutting tools: drills, taps, milling cutters, tool bits, gear cutters, saw blades, planer and jointer blades, router bits, etc.

Stainless steel’s resistance to corrosion and staining and its low maintenance make it an ideal material for many applications, e.g. household products, surgical instruments, major appliances, industrial equipment, structural alloys in automotive and aerospace, construction materials in large buildings, commercial kitchens and food processing plants.

Polymers – new green

Derived from renewable biomass sources, biofiber or fossil-fuel plastics, petroleum based polymers. Bioplastics are used for disposable items, packaging and medical applications, etc. We have a completely new biofiber process.


Is a crystalline allotrope of carbon with 2-dimensional properties. Graphene has many extraordinary properties. It is about 100 times stronger than the strongest steel with a hypothetical thickness of 3.35Å, which is equal to the thickness of the graphene sheet. It conducts heat and electricity efficiently and is nearly transparent.

Cubic silicon carbide

The properties of cubic silicon carbide and our new fabrication method at high growth rates make it attractive for high temperature solar function.

Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP)

Is a manufacturing process, used to reduce the porosity of metals and increase the density of many ceramic materials. This improves the material’s mechanical properties and workability.


The study of friction, wear, lubrication, and the design of bearings; the science of interacting surfaces in relative motion.

Additive manufacturing

Is a an extremely quick and cost effective way to develop components (complex structures are ideal), reduce weight while retaining the same or better product characteristics, reduce material consumption by adding material not subtracting.

Multimaterial structures

Consist of two or more materials (e.g. bioplastic, metal and ceramic) that are put together to create improved functionality. Multiple thin layers create materials with completely new properties.

Grinding at the nanoscale

Provides better accuracy of shape while the inner characteristics of the material are preserved through to the surface. Creates a sealed ”skin”. A surface without cracks and other grinding defects provides designs with lower friction, low corrosion, longer life cycle, higher strength, less need of lubrication, better fatigue resistance and lower maintenance costs.

Machining with high precision

High precision machining parts with high dimensional and shape accuracy, and faster and more efficient production with fewer production steps.
